The Salem Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce its popular summertime movie series is returning to Kiwanis Park for the second straight year. Salem’s historic multi-purpose facility is located on the corner of Florida and 6th Streets and this venue has been hosting sports and entertainment events in Salem since it opened in 1932.
On Friday, May 23, the free monthly entertainment begins with the Disney animated picture “Moana 2”. This is an adventure-filled journey starring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Auli’s Caravalho, and Rachel House. Gates will open at 7 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. As always, admission is absolutely free for all ages.
This year’s other movies for the summer of 2025 include – “Inside Out 2” on June 20, “Kung Fu Panda 4” on July 25 and “Mufasa: The Lion King” on August 15.
These Friday night events, sponsored by Renewal by Andersen, are designed for the entire family to enjoy a free night at the movies under the stars, so everyone is welcome to bring chairs and a blanket. Refreshments will be available at the Kiwanis Park concession stands. Cash Only.
Please remember that pets are not allowed at these events. For additional information, please call Salem Parks and Recreation at (540) 375-3057.
