Early this morning at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from the Salem Police Department responded to the area of Ward Street and Springfield Avenue in reference to a report of shots fired.

The City of Salem Commonwealth’s Attorney has secured guilty pleas against two adults who were responsible for the death of a four-year-old and injuries to a six-year-old who lived in the same home on Front Avenue.

On July 28, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Salem Police responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a wounded victim lying outside of a home.

On July 7, officers responded to the 1800 block of West Main Street in reference to an indecent exposure complaint.

Both of the suspects involved in the armed robbery of the 7-Eleven store on Roanoke Boulevard in Salem last Saturday are now in custody.
