Newsboys UNITED Tour Coming to Salem in December

The Newsboys United Tour is making history in 2018 and the Salem Civic Center will be hosting some of the excitement in December.  Current lead singer Michael Tait and longtime members Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein and Jody Davis last performed together in Salem in February of 2017.  Now, the foursome has welcomed back to the band former drummer and lead vocalist Peter Furler and former bassist Phil Joel for a unique reunion tour.

“Every night I love sharing the stage with my bandmates, past and present,” said Tait. “This is one of the most meaningful tours I’ve ever been a part of, and I’m thrilled we can continue the fun.”

By bringing all of the band’s members and hits together under one roof, fans are able to experience three decades of Newsboys music in one night.  The Newsboys United tour seed was planted in 2017 when Furler sat in with the band to record the song, “The Cross Has the Final Word.”

“We've been so surprised and humbled at the response from Newsboys fans not just in the cities we've visited but from fans all over the world,” said Jeff Frankenstein, Newsboys Keyboardist.  “This has been so much more than just a tour. It's a celebration of different eras, individuals and the songs that have brought us together.”

The Newsboys United Tour will arrive at the Salem Civic Center on Sunday, December 9. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 16, at 10 a.m.  General Admission tickets are just $27, Premium Reserved seats through Ticketmaster are $47 and Reserved VIP seats are available through Ticketmaster for $102. A Friends and Family Four-Pack of General Admission Tickets also is available for just $88. Tickets can be purchased at the Salem Civic Center Box Office (Monday – Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), by phone at 800-745-3000 and through Preferred parking is available for $5.

One of the most influential bands in Christian music history, The Newsboys have sold more than 8 million units and amassed eight Gold® certifications, 33 #1 radio hits, four GRAMMY® nominations, two American Music Award nominations and multiple Dove Awards.  The band’s signature songs include “We Believe,” “He Reigns,” “Miracles,” “Born Again” and their Platinum®-certified mega hit, “God’s Not Dead.” The latter inspired one of the most popular Christian film franchises of all time, PureFlix’s God’s Not Dead and God’s Not Dead 2, both of which included appearances by the band.

“The crowd attendance and response on this ‘Newsboys United Tour’ have been simply overwhelming,” said Furler. “The lads and I are truly excited about extending the tour through the end of the year.”

Sponsored by ChildFund and produced by Premier Productions in partnership with the Newsboys, the “Newsboys United Tour” will once again feature special guest artist, Zealand, which is founded and fronted by Phil Joel. The tour also will feature a special appearance by Adam Agee, the front man for Audio Adrenaline.
