Important Alert System Information

The City of Salem recently switched providers for its Citizens Alert System when our original vendor stopped providing this service. The transition has been very smooth except for the “random” weather alerts we have been receiving.

These are generated automatically by the National Weather Service and many of us have received warnings in the last few weeks that have not made sense when it comes to our current weather conditions in Salem,Virginia.

In order to correct this, anyone who was enrolled in the original system, prior to November 2016, will need to take just a few minutes to re-register with the new provider by clicking HERE.

The original sign-up list will be eliminated by this Tuesday, July 25, so please sign-up as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for re-registering to stay informed.
