Meagan Ryan has been named the new Head Coach for the Girls Soccer program at Salem high School, pending School Board approval. She has an impressive soccer resume’ as both a player and coach.
The Clarksville, Maryland native graduated from Roanoke College in 2018 with a degree in Sports Management, and during her four year at the college she was a midfielder for the Maroons women’s soccer team. While she was a student at RC, she also worked as an assistant coach at Andrew Lewis Middle School and later she was the head coach at Glenvar High School for a season.
She also has served as an assistant coach at Division II Gulf Coast Conference-member Auburn University at Montgomery in Alabama, been an assistant coach at her alma mater and worked with Virginia’s Blue Ridge Star.
During her high school playing days in Maryland at River Hill High School, her teams won two state championships. She also played for a Region 1 club team, Premier Soccer Club, that was a Maryland State Cup finalist.
Her hiring is expected to be made official when the Salem School Board meets on Tuesday, December 10.
