Salem Police Information on Ellis Court Incident

Early this morning, just after midnight, officers from the Salem Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Ellis Court after receiving a 911 call saying gunshots had been heard in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found several empty cartridge casings in the roadway and they also discovered one of the discharged rounds had struck a window of the residence located at 1702 Ellis Court. This rental property was unoccupied at the time.

Salem Police believe this latest incident is related to other disturbances in this same area involving the current tenant of this duplex. The Salem Police Department has been working with the current property owner over the past year to address these ongoing instances.

No injuries were reported early this morning, and this latest incident remains under investigation.

If anyone has information related to these shots fired occurrences, please contact the Detective Division of the Salem Police Department at (540) 375-3083.
