Salem Fire-EMS Station 1

Platoon Captains (Command 1) and EMS Lieutenants (Fire Medic 1) operate out of Station 1, our main downtown station. Engine 1, Tower 1 and Medic 801 operate out of this station as well as reserve engines and ambulances. HazMat 1, our 60' tractor-trailer with Hazardous Materials team equipment, is also dispatched from Station 1.

Salem Fire-EMS Station 2

In addition to fire suppression and emergency medical services, Station 2 specializes in Technical Rescue. Engine 2 is equipped with vehicle extrication tools and firefighters at this station are proficient in all aspects of its use. Equipment for swiftwater rescues as well as rope, confined space and trench rescues is housed at Station 2. 

Salem's tech rescue team members are an integral part of the Division 6 Technical Rescue Team for Virginia. Read more about Salem's Technical Rescue Team.
