The Salem Senior Center is a busy place with lots of things happening all the time.  All seniors in the valley are welcome to join us.   Current classes and activities held every week include Bridge, Hand, Knee, & Foot, chair caning/basket weaving, ballroom dance, line dance, ceramics, tap dance, “art on your own”. We hold two Tai Chi classes, two Chair Yoga classes, and three Fitness Classes per week.  Senior Mountain Pickers is also a favorite.  Anyone who plays a stringed instrument is welcome to come join the circle of “pickers” or come as an audience member to listen to some good bluegrass or gospel music every Friday.

Special classes and events are held monthly with many different topics such as health concerns for seniors, decluttering, Medicare changes, bingo, ballgames, etc.    These require signing up in the office and they are always listed in our newsletter each month.  The monthly newsletters are printed and put on our website one to two weeks before the new month begins.   There is a minimal charge for some classes and events especially if they include lunch or materials for the class.  Check the newsletter or call our office for this information.

Trips are a big part of the Salem Senior Center.  Our trip lists are distributed in January for the year.  Two five- or six-days trips are planned; as well as at least one or two day trips per month.

The Salem Senior Center celebrated it’s 50th year in 2022 and hopes to continue to support the senior citizens for many years to come.
