Salem School Division Announces New Assistant Principals

At Salem High School, Bridget Nelson will replace the retiring Bill Gerrol and at Andrew Lewis Middle School, Matthew Coe will fill the assistant principal slot created by the promotion of Jamie Garst to the position of school principal.

School Division Announces Significant Promotions

Salem School Division Superintendent, Dr. Alan Seibert, is pleased to announce that the Salem School Board has formally approved Dr. Forest Jones to join the Central Office staff as Director of Administrative Services, effective July 1, 2017. Jones will replace Assistant Superintendent, Mike Bryant, who is leaving his position at the end of June. Bryant has served Salem’s children for over 30 years as a principal and administrator and he invested a total of 45 years in public education in the Roanoke Valley.

Salem Announces New Basketball Event to Honor Adam Ward

Salem High School, the Western Virginia Basketball Officials Association and the City of Salem have joined forces to honor the memory of Adam Ward by establishing a Basketball Classic in his honor. The 2007 Salem High School alumnus, who graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011, played football at Salem High School, but was an avid fan and supporter of all types of athletic events his entire life.
