*IMPORTANT NOTE RE: FITNESS CLASSES*

If taking 2 fitness classes per week, cost is $50 for 2 months. If taking 3 or more, cost is $70 for 2 months. City of Salem & Salem Schools employees are half-price for fitness classes. Drop-ins are welcome at $5 per class. Instructors are training to modify exercises for beginning levels. All fitness classes are on-going. Payment is made on a 2 month schedule (SEP/OCT, NOV/DEC, JAN/FEB, MAR/APR, MAY/JUN, JUL/AUG). Come to class, fill out a form the first-time, then pay the instructor.

Yoga is a great way to increase joint mobility, improve muscle tone and flexibility, and build balance. It also imporves memory, focus, and attention as well as promote and overall sense of well-being.

CHAIR YOGA

Chair yoga is modified yoga poses that can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who lack the mobility to move easily from seated to floor positions.  Excellent for seniors who are not mobile or adults who have had knee or hip replacements or other health issues and cannot make the transition to the floor.

CORE AND MORE (ALL LEVELS)

This class is designed to reduce body fat and sculpt muscles through a series of strength training exercises using bands, free weights and more. This is a great program for any level participant.

FIT TO THE CORE

Make the most out of your workout time!!! Fit to the Core uses a variety of exercise modalities to constantly challenge your body and give you a fun, different workout each week. You’ll mix body weight exercises with interval and strength training, in a variety of formats and class styles. Classes are designed in a way to maximize the benefit by offering several different elements in the same workout, including cardio, strength, core, and conditioning. Fitness Fusion can help you reach your fitness goals, no matter what they might be. This class is for all fitness levels and anyone who wants to burn some calories, tone your body, build some muscle, and have some fun! Class length is one hour including a brief warm-up and cool-down.

SHAKE (cardio dance class)

SHAKE is a cardio dance class suitable for 16 and older where you move and groove to all different genres of music such as hip-hop, pop, oldies, latin, reggae, and more. It is so much fun that you won't notice you're sweating buckets while burning calories!!!!
