Sheriff's Office
Court Security

court security

The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the security and safety of the courthouse,
and transportation of Inmates to and from courts.

In Fiscal year 2006 - 2007 the Sheriff's Office provided security for 639
Court Sessions and transported 1,427 persons in custody.

The Sheriff's Office uses both standing and hand-held metal detectors, as well as an x-ray machine to ensure that weapons are not introduced into the Courthouse Environment.

Interior view of Courtroom In October 2001, the Sheriff's Office published and adopted an Emergency Action Plan for all Courthouse employees. The plan was written after an in-depth risk assessment and research project was conducted. This plan outlines the procedures to be taken by all employees during any emergency situation that may involve courthouse employees.
