Office of Building Inspections and Zoning
Inspections
The Office of Building Inspections and Zoning performs the following inspections:
- Building, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Inspections, Tank Removal, Fire Alarm Systems
- Property Maintenance Inspections
- Zoning Inspections
All inspection requests received prior to 8:30 a.m. will be done that day. This includes inspection requests left on our voice mail. All inspection requests received after 8:30 a.m. will be done the next working day.
The sequence of inspections for each type of inspection is listed below:
You must have the permit number and job address to request an inspection. Only the permit holder may request an inspection.

Building Inspections:
- Footings- When ready for inspection-slab
- Foundation & Drain Tile- When ready
- Framing & Insulation-After Rough-in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections have been approved.
- Final-After Final electrical, plumbing and mechanical inspections have been approved.
Electrical Inspections:
- Temporary Electric-When ready for inspection
- Rough-In- Before framing and insulation inspection
- Final- Before final building inspection
Plumbing Inspections:
- Ground Work - Before concealment
- Sewer & Water Lines - When ready for inspection
- Rough-In - Before framing and insulation inspection
- Final - Before final building inspection
Mechanical Inspections:
- Rough-In - Before framing and insulation inspection
- Final - Before final building inspection
