Application Process for Building Permits
When applying for different permits the following items are required:
Building Permit New Construction - Residential
- Two (2) sets of plans
- Completed application
- Shrink-swell soil test results
- If located in the floodplain, preconstruction Certificate of Elevation*
- Certified plat showing all easements, existing structures, and proposed structures
- Erosion and Sediment Control Permit from the Engineering Department
Building Permit New Construction - Commercial
- Three (3) sets of sealed (Architect or Engineer ) plans, including all electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings
- Completed application
- Shrink-swell soil test results
- If located in the floodplain, Preconstruction Certificate of Elevation*
- Approved site plan
- Erosion and Sediment Control Permit from the Engineering Department
Building Permit Additions - Residential
- One (1) set of plans
- If located in the floodplain, Preconstruction Certificate of Elevation*
- Certified plat showing all easements, existing structures and proposed addition
Building Permit Additions - Commercial
- Three (3) sets of sealed (Architect or Engineer ) plans, including all electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings
- Shrink-swell soil test results
- If located in the floodplain, Preconstruction Certificate of Elevation*
- Approved site plan
*Please note, if a Preconstruction Certificate of Elevation is required, then before a certificate of occupancy is issued, we must receiver a Preconstruction Certificate of Elevation.
