Salem Farmers Market – Market Vendors, Craft Vendors, and Carriage Rides around downtown
The “Gingerbread Festival” will be held at Salem Library presented by the Salem Roanoke Chamber. Take pictures with Santa, children’s activities, several vendors and hot cider.
The Salem Parks & Recreation offices will be closed on December 24th & 25th for Christmas Day. We will open back up on Monday, December 28th.

The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department along with Salem Terrace, & Q99-FM are all set to present the 9th annual “Winterfest Beach Bash” on Friday, January 29th, 2016, at the Salem Civic Center. The popular group “The Band of Oz” will be in town to help melt away the winter cold with a little summertime fun. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the music will begin at 6 p.m.
Tickets go on sale December at the Salem Parks & Recreation Department (620 Florida Street). Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door – cash and checks only. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Penguin Club’s community service projects.
This event has sold out for last several years, so make sure to come get your tickets before we run out.

Relay for Life- Saturday, May 14th
Location: Longwood Park
This event starts at 12 p.m. (noon) and goes until closing ceremonies on 10 p.m..
The Relay For Life of Salem is opportunity to honor cancer survivors & raise awareness about cancer prevention. The event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society fight the disease.
