The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department, along with Q99-FM, is all set to present the 10th annual “Winterfest Beach Bash” on Friday, February 3, at 6 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center. The legendary “Band of Oz”
is once again back in Salem to provide an entire evening of summertime favorites to warm up a winter night.
This past October, “Band of Oz” was enshrined in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame along with fellow class of 2016 honorees The Avett Brothers, Kelly Pickler and The Carolina Chocolate Drops. The “Band of Oz” has been playing beach music in the southeast since 1967.
Tickets for the band’s appearance at the Salem Civic Center are now on sale at the Salem Parks & Recreation Department, 620 Florida Street. Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door – cash and checks only. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and proceeds from the event will benefit the Penguin Club’s community service projects. This event is often a complete sell-out, so be sure to get your tickets early!
No coolers or outside food or drinks will be permitted. For additional ticket information, please contact the Salem Parks and Recreation Department at 375-3057.
