On May 26, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers from the Salem Police Department responded to the 7-11 convenience store located in the 1700 block of E. Main St. in reference to a reported Armed Robbery. Upon the officer’s arrival, they were advised by the store clerk that two masked men had entered the store and one of the suspects was brandishing a firearm.

The suspects demanded money from the clerk, who complied with their ultimatum. During the course of the robbery, a second store employee was struck in the head by one of the suspects and robbed of personal property.

Both suspects left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency, merchandise and personal property. The store employee who was assaulted was treated at the scene for minor injuries by Salem Fire/EMS personnel.

The Salem Police Department is working along with the Roanoke City Police Department to investigate the robbery. Attached are images of the suspects that were captured by a surveillance camera.
