On April 12, the Salem Police Department released information regarding two stolen vehicles and a fugitive from Louisiana. At the time of the release, authorities, including the U.S. Marshal’s service, suspected that fugitive, Wade Lohse, had arrived in Salem in a stolen Mazda from Louisiana.
Salem Police officers discovered the unoccupied white 2011 Mazda 6 on April 11 and then the following morning, they received a report of a Jeep that was stolen near the same location where the Mazda was recovered.
At the time, Lohse was wanted in Louisiana for Failing to Appear in court on original charges of Vehicular Homicide, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Burglary. In addition, he had a history of violence including weapons possession.
Lohse was taken into custody on April 16 in downtown Philadelphia and the next day the stolen Jeep was recovered in the Town of Dover, New Jersey. The Jeep was located by Dover Police and was not occupied at the time of its recovery.
The investigation into this matter continues.
